Graduation season is coming, many of our coming graduates have received college offers from their dream schools and even some with scholarship. Besides the GPA and test scores, the International Department of Kunshan High School also supports the students with extra curriculums and social work. Many of our students are doing their effort into the community services and charity activities. One of the key event is our “Ci Ji” project which is to promote environmental protection through daily life. This project started in 2016 and it’s two years old now.
Almost every Saturday the students from Kunshan High School International Department visit the Ci Ji project center of environment protection in Kunshan, learn from the staffs of the concept and knowledge of how to practice the idea. The students learned very fast and tried to put the knowledge into their day to day life to practice.
They started with garbage sorting and recycling, try and learn from each other, to make the time of weekend into good use.
They also spread out into their living community to introduce the idea and knowledge to their neighborhood. They became more familiar and good with communicate and convince people around, showed an overall improvement of their abilities. They understand more through the practice the importance of environment protection, it’s not only the idea and concept, more important is about to have more and more people join and practice.
Their efforts had been recognized by others, starting from the parents and other people close to them, more and more start to participate.
They also received help from foreign friends, the goal of the idea of environment protection is not for one person or one place, but needs effort from everyone around the world.
Our students have set up recycling spot in the school, sort the materials and use the recycling income to Ci Ji project to help more people in need.
Since the school was founded, the International Department of Kunshan High School has been taking the opportunity to develop the students with an international vision, scientific spirit, humanistic care and social responsibility. While paying attention to improving students’ standardized performance, but also to raise their strong sense of social responsibility.
Like the environmental activities we have been keeping on, we will cultivate students’ strong society in the continuous environmental protection practice. We hope that they can take the initiative to take responsibility for themselves in the future when they enter the global society.
