On the afternoon of May 16, the first graders held the Dubbing Show film dubbing competition, one of the traditional activities of the Foreign Language Festival, in the lecture hall. After layers of competition, each class selected the dubbing experts in the class to form the eight strongest teams. After more than a month of preparation and rehearsal, these eight teams presented a “sound immersive” performance for everyone. This competition specially invited Xu Caili, Ni Suqi, Wang Lingbin and Feng Yineng as judges.
Judge Xu Caili spoke highly of the performance of the students in the dubbing competition, and put forward valuable opinions. The players are fully integrated into the plot. Their dubbing is not only clear and accurate in English pronunciation, but also vividly imitates the emotions of the characters, bringing the audience an auditory gluttonous feast.

I am honored to receive the award of The Best Character in this dubbing competition. First, I would like to thank Mr. Shen and Mr. Zhong who have always supported me. It was their supervision and careful guidance that helped me progress again and again, and gradually let me understand that dubbing is not just a simple imitation of voice and intonation, but also how to learn how to get close to the character’s personality and give the voice plenty of emotion.

In this dubbing, I really felt the charm of teamwork and realized that effort and results are directly proportional. In “Aladdin”, I play the date seller and the villain Jafar, the contrast between the two is huge, and the personality is very prominent. During repeated rehearsals, I figured out the emotions of the characters, changed my voice, and finally performed it on stage. I felt a great sense of achievement.

After a long period of practice, my oral pronunciation has improved, my efforts have been recognized, and my self-confidence has been strengthened. More importantly, I learned from Judy the spirit of sticking to your dreams even when faced with difficulties. I hope that I can be like Judy in the future, stick to my dreams and never give up.
