On the afternoon of May 20, the graduation ceremony of the 2022 Sino-US class was held in the small theater. All 87 graduates welcomed this important moment of growth with the delighted eyes of their parents and the expected applause of Chinese and foreign teachers. Look at the life clips of classmates and friendship, sing a youthful graduation song, listen to the blessings of parents and teachers… I miss it for a long time, and my thoughts are full of thoughts.
“The 2022 Sino-American class is a miracle of the fairy forest!” Principal Cheng Cailing’s speech was full of appreciation and pride for the graduates. Three years ago, many students did not have outstanding grades when they entered NFLS Xianlin. Three years later, everyone broke through themselves and entered world famous schools with impressive achievements.
Cultivating modern people with Chinese soul and world mind is the pursuit of Nanwai people in running a school. When graduating, what the teacher wants to say to the students is still “have a country in your heart and look at the world”.
“Building a community with a shared future for mankind requires us to cultivate a group of international talents with a more open and inclusive attitude, and studying abroad is a very important path.” Principal Cheng Cailing has recorded the examples of seniors who went abroad to pursue their dreams, and returned from their studies to serve the motherland. It is hoped that graduates will take this as an example, with the spirit of independence, autonomy, enterprising, openness and innovation of NFLS, study hard, and strive to become a person who has both ability and political integrity, and puts morality first in the future. A person with courage and mind, both rational and passionate; a person who experiences autonomy from independence, grasps time from planning, exercises eloquence from expression, tastes maturity from making friends, grabs happiness from interests, and gains strength from pursuit. An international talent who can adapt to modern development trends and integrate the essence of Chinese and Western ideas.
Charles Kim, Director of AHEAD Education Business Development Department, also praised the achievements of the graduates. In international high schools, students face and overcome many challenges—to get used to taking foreign courses with foreign teachers; not only to absorb and master knowledge, but also to learn how to think critically; to communicate effectively, not only to convey information, and a creator of new ideas… In the end, everyone achieved excellent results, including a perfect score on the ACT. Now, the door to the future learning journey is open, and there is a long way to go.
