The Wasatch Academy American Elite High School Program at High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, Jiangning Campus Took First Place in the 13th International Future Business Leader Summit.
The 13th International Future Business Leader Summit was held in Shanghai from August 6th to 11th. Future business leaders from many key high schools around the country attended this summit, competing for their own commercial dream. After the fierce six-day competition, students of the Wasatch Academy American Elite High School Program of High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, Jiangning Campus made great achievements and won many awards. CHANG Ruochen, TANG Zhiyuan and JIN Zaiyong from the American Elite High School Program won the award of “National Champion Company”. “TANG Zhiyuan and JIN Zaiyong won “the Best Sales Manager of the Year Award”. CHANG Ruochen was awarded the “Excellent CEO” prize. In recognition of the students’ outstanding performance, the Champion Company received consistent high praise both from the business competition committee and the other competing schools. The competitors developed more ideas for products and displayed a high level of realism.
Activity Planning
The activity is based on seven students acting in different roles to simulate a company. By participating in the competition, students developed a clearer understanding of how to run a company and what it would be like to work in a real business. Also, the students are tested in key skills like leadership, teamwork, communication and critical decision-making. Banking and an understanding of consumers were additional skills that were tested throughout the program. Participants who performed well were rewarded accordingly.
As awareness of environmental issues rises, society advocates measures to share assets – the so-called ‘sharing economy’. These products are designed to improve consumer’s lives but they create new challenges, like sanitation problems. Bacteria on the handles of shared bikes, subways or buses will cause infection. Therefore, clean sharing is coming. The device has a UV lamp, a sensing system, a solar panel and a connection device. It is able to connect freely within buses or subways. It will activate once hands leave a surface and will clean within 10 seconds by ultraviolet light disinfection. The device is simply constructed at low cost. It not only protects public safety and hygiene but also extends the life of the asset.
Kink Puzzle is a new puzzle game. It can provide an endless variety of puzzles and is overturning the traditional market of non-changeable puzzles. The front side is made up of electronics components and the back side is electronics nodes. Blocks are dragged to make them move.
Tap blocks to make them rotate. Fill in all the boxes inside the border to complete the puzzle. Kink puzzle uses advanced color paper and allows the paper to remain a whole color under any conditions. If you use the Kink puzzle app, you will find word searches and spot the difference within the puzzles. There are anagrams and secret codes to solve, mazes and patterns to follow and logic puzzles to fill in. It also contains pictures to copy, pages to color and dots to join all within the theme of different kinky play. It is not only a puzzle but also a board with infinite possibilities.
Thoughts by students:
CHANG Ruochen: I have experienced a lot throughout these activities. In the beginning, I established a goal to acquire more than $10 million in assets. However, no pain – no gain. What I think is most important is to move forward, hand-in-hand. “Business is war without bullets.” Every possibility will happen in every team. We are so lucky that we were able overcome these challenges. The activity is over but our friendship might continue.
TANG Zhiyuan: Times flies, the competition is over. I have gained a lot from this competition. As a marketing manager, I needed to get the orders and do consumer research. Facing the large orders, I then needed to adjust the production rate to correspond with the level of sales.
During the competition, we seized business opportunities and generated profits. When the results were finalised we had won the competition. I received more business knowledge and laid a good foundation for my future.

The International Future Business Leader Summit is a large commercial education activity for teenagers held by Micro World, a brand under the Excellence & Achievement. This summit is mainly composed of two parts, the Future MBA courses and Micro-Biz challenge matches. The intention is to fully integrate the students’ business knowledge in a practical environment. This summit is also very popular among many excellent high schools in Nanjing, such as Nanjing Foreign Language School, High School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, Jinling High School, and Nanjing No.3 Senior School.
During the coursework section, some well-known business executives were invited to share their knowledge and experience and communicate with the future business leaders. These activities are also helpful when applying to universities. Through this summit, the participants’ commercial awareness, team spirit, speaking ability and negotiation skills were greatly developed. The participants created their own business legends and experienced a comprehensive business adventure. The student participants are now preparing to apply for, and hopefully attend, many good universities.
